A really convenient Taormina Boutique Hotel close to the action

The rooms are very good, the service is very personal and really efficient and friendly, and everyone goes out of their way to make you feel at home. The breakfast terrace has excellent views down to the sea, and the buffet has a large selection of food sure to take care of the vast majority of appetites. The hotel is about 5 minutes walk in one direction to the cablecar which takes one down to the beach areas (you can also walk down the stairs - only for the fit mind you - a great walk down seeing exceptional views on the way) - only the brave would want to walk back up - the cable is 3 Euro a head each way - a 7 min trip. The hotel is also about 5 minutes walk in the other direction to the main part of town - basically a nice walk along relatively flat part which then gets to steps for about 100 - 200 meters worth until you get to the main shopping/restaurant road - Corso Umberto. You can turn left or right (where you meet Corso Umberto is roughly in the middle) and find all kinds of interesting shopping and eating places. There are also alleys and paths leading up to and up from Corso Umberto to explore. The restaurant selections in Taurmina are great and generally the food is wonderful. The hotel will recommend (and make bookings for you) at a bunch of good restaurants - all will be fine . What is also great is that the hotel can arrange for La Caravella Lido to come collect you in the morning and take you to their private beach (Euro 15 per head) and will bring you back whenever you wish - it is well worth a visit and the food at the Lido restaurant is excellent (day or night). Alternatively you can go to the beach at the bottom of the stairs (refer above) - Mendolia beach club and pay Euro10 a head for 2 loungers and umbrella - but go early if its August else you will not get in as it gets booked out early - you can ask the hotel to call them and reserve seats for you." author="EMandJM on TripAdvisor" pubdate="2013-08-24" user_review="5" min_review="1" max_review="5" ]
